hervalicio.us: On (Startup) Chile

Hat tip to Paul Ahlstrom for passing along a review of Startup Chile from a participant. I would love to hear about others’ experiences (well, or ill). I am glad that we have not been forced by our sponsoring institutions to throw cash at participating Foundry startups before they have discovered their businesses.

Check out Paul Ahlstrom and Nathan Furr’s book “Nail It Then Scale It” for a deep dive into why a major problem with startups is attempting to build a business before you’ve validated it.

So, after 6 months of stay in beautiful Santiago, my stay has come to an end and now is time to set sail and move on to unexplored waters. I’ll keep this post brief and focus on the two things that, in my point of view, make the program not as successful as it could (should) be.
