There are jobs at the highest level of government and industry that come with an obligation to society or fiduciary duty to shareholders that trump the day-to-day demands of one’s own children.

Thanks, Dad, for never taking the time to explain to me that - alas - your fiduciary duty to shareholders prevented you from making, and then smashing, a Lincoln Log tower with me that evening, as promised.
